The Southwest Apartment building, which houses Swami's students from around the world, was inaugurated. Students began staying at the ashram throughout the year meditating, studying the knowledge and doing sega. In the year 2001 Swami was 28 years old.

- Swami conducted another free Eye Camp which provided cataract surgeries to five hundred and twenty poor people from the surrounding villages of Andhra Pradesh. These services included transportation, the surgeries and follow up exams by the medical team.
- Tricycles were distributed to dozens of handicapped people who were unable to walk.
